"The intention of her work is to catalyze thoughts and ideas and then provoke the conversation, stimulating inquiry and knowledge. The artwork, if it is successful, opens a space for dialogue to be ignited and to be continued. In this site specific piece, "Influx of Ingenuity acknowledges history and recognizes the current socioeconomic state of the city and surrounding areas. Socioeconomic relief is a struggle for most communities during these harsh economic times. References to the built environment, racial and class divisions, individual vs. community, mitosis or life in formation, preservation of natural resources, and industry are weaved into the fabrication of this piece. To progress as a society we must acknowledge the need to participate, collaborate, heal, think critically and creatively, work hard, respect the natural resources around us, and acquire an influx of ingenuity."
